The basic's are the the trapezes. It is easy to do, yet very important in some tricks.
TRAPEZE TUTORIAL
Right trapeze.
1. Swing the diabolo to your right so it goes over the right stick.
2. Catch the diabolo on the string.
Left trapeze.
1. Swing the diabolo to your left so it goes over your left stick.
2. Catch the diabolo on the string.
INVERSE TRAPEZE TUTORIAL
Right inverse trapeze.
1. Cross the right stick over the left side of the string.
2. Push the right stick onto the string under the left stick, and use this clockwise momentum to catch the diabolo on the string above it so the diabolo travels over the left stick.
3. Catch the diabolo on the string.
Left inverse trapeze.
1. Cross the left stick over the right side of the string.
2. Push the left stick onto the string under the right stick, and use this anti-clockwise momentum to catch the diabolo on the string above it so the diabolo travels over the right stick.
3. Catch the diabolo on the string.

After your done with that, you can start learning the waterfall.
WATERFALL TUTORIAL
1. Put your left stick horizontal.
2. Wrap your right stick over the left stick. Then using the right stick, go down and under the diabolo (left to right) so the diabolo is resting on the string.
3. Put your hand back in front of you.
4. To release it, throw the diabolo to the left.

BACKSIDE TUTORIAL
Right backside.
1. Throw the diabolo to shoulder height.
2. Wrap the right stick over the right hand side of the diabolo while it is in the air. The strings should be crossed.
Left backside.
1. Throw the diabolo to shoulder height.
2. Wrap the left stick over the left hand side of the diabolo while it is in the air. The strings should be crossed once.
